Cakes and more...

Fall Cakes
Seems like since school started a lot of people want cakes. I'm not complaining, I love making them but it never fails that I end up agreeing to make two (or 3) that need to be delivered within days of each other.  But, you know, somehow it all works out.
This fall I have made 6 cakes and an order of cupcakes.  After Thanksgiving I'm grateful to be taking on another set of cupcakes with hopes that the new year brings backing more delicious treats.  I love baking!  I like the challenge and the creative process. Here are the most recent...
Naked Birthday Cake
Chocolate Minnie Mouse Birthday Cake

16th Birthday Cake
Mindcraft Sword Chocolate and Vanilla Cupcakes
German Chocolate Sheet Cake, Vanilla 6 inch (toilet paper cake)...I don't ask I just make them.
Strawberry Naked Birthday Cake
And 2 creamy delicious Peanut Butter Pies
Not a cake but this pie was EXCELLENT!
It was just what a friends was looking for.  She didn't want the "fluffy"  kind of pie, which is not my favorite either, so after some research I found this wonderful recipe from Kevin & Amanda's website.  I made 2, one for a friend who I was taking dinner to and another to split with my friend who did want the "fluffy" pie.  She said it was exactly what she wanted.

AND I made cookies for my staff because they are wonderful!

Now off to start Thanksgiving dinner!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Recent Cakes

March was a busy month!  Who am I kidding, it seems like every month is busy but March brings our oldest son's birthday. At the exact same time I took on a birthday cake for a coworker's daughter, her 1st birthday. I was excited to get to do a little girls' cake, something with two boys that I don't get to do very often.  However, at the very same time I had to come up with a cake for my son's 19th birthday. It was a fun making both (and I even took off a day to enjoy the process). For my son's I used my FAVORITE chocolate cake recipe.  The other cake was just a vanilla cake. Here are the cakes I came up with for two very special people!

Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting!
Delicious!

This was the cake just for her daughter
separate from the cake below for everyone.
This was the whole cake.

Cupcakes, cake pops and cakes...oh my!

I love making cakes, cupcakes and cake pops! I thought I would post pictures of some the cakes I have made over the years.  It is truly a passion of mine to make and decorate cakes and cupcakes.  Some are easy, others are ones I don't know that I'd try again but they were fun to make. All of them have been for friends and family.
